Our arctic field campaign really starts Monday !
For the next 9 monts, researchers from the IVORI project will take shifts at the Cambridge Bay High Arctic Research Station, 69 degrees North, also known as Ikaluktitiak. Our ultimate goal is the monitor for the first time and during one full snow season, the evolution of the microstructure of arctic snow.
Incredible work from all the team and our Canadian colleagues to make this happens !

Joining the first Arctic Snow School!

In April 2023, Marie and Neige were invited to teach at the first Arctic Snow School in Canada’s Far North, at 69°N, in a remote Inuit village called Ikaluktutiak (Cambridge Bay) - or "the right place to fish", in the territory of Nunavut. The CT scanner made it safely to CHARS !

After long months of paperworks, and a few adventures, our CT scanner made it too CHARS thanks to the huge support of Sherbrooke University and CHARS research station.
It is now installed in the CHARS facilities and surprisingly it’s working :)

Winter is coming

After testing most of measurement protocol last year at Col de Porte, we are starting a new measurement campaign for winter 2022-2023 still at Col de Porte.
Rémi, who just arrived in the IVORI team, will help for this field campaign where we plan to follow the seasonnal evolution of snow microstructure.

IGS snow symposium

Part of the IVORI team attended the IGS snow symposium in Davos, in september 2022.
Julien, Kevin and Marie gave poster and oral presentations on the latest progress of the project. Here is the link to the symposium website : https://www.igsoc.org/event/davos_2022
