As far as I remember, I have always been fascinated by snow. Snow is beauty and fairy-like, snow is complex and simple at the same time. To me, it makes everything look great and perfect. It calms me down and makes me feel incredibly good and peaceful. Maybe, it has also something to do with the fact that snow is ephemeral and somehow bound to melt and disappear and also that it’s changing/evolving continuously, it’s never the same, never boring.

I am the PI of the IVORI project. My research interest includes the optical properties of snow, aka snow colors, snow modeling and satellite observations and data assimilation (website).
